Rachel Anne Wolfe-Spitalleta is a Filipino singer, composer, a mother, actress, an endorser and a beauty queen. As for her influences to take the road of musicianship are no other than Annie Brazil and Richard Merk.
Rachel was born and raised in the Philippines. Luckily, she happened to be the daughter of the country’s sole Queen of Jazz, Annie Braziland her brother is no other the Prince of Jazz, Richard Merk. No wonder that she turned out to be a singer, inspired by her family members. She has her share of happy moments with her husband, John Spitalleta and four sons namely: Max, Trevor, Luke and Jake.
From an aspiring lounge singer, her name eventually in the top list of singer for various hotel lounges in Manila and in Tokyo. With her endowed beauty and brains, Rachel on her 16th, joined the prestigious beauty contest, Ms. Binibining Pilipinas and ended winning the crown as Ms. Young International on 1984.
On her 17th year, she released her very first album under Octo Arts Intl. She pursued the calling for movie and television participation. She had her glory days playing with prominent actors like Fernando Poe, Dolphy, Nora Aunor, Bong Revilla, Richard Gomez, Vilma Santos, Snooky Serna and Albert Martinez.
Then marriage dawned upon her and tied knots with an American entrepreneur and advertising executive, John Spitaletta. With him, she mothered four sons. While in U.S., Rachel met Archie Dairocas and released her another album under Viva Records on 1997.
Due to the calling for normal family life, Rachel abandoned her first love and put to priority the raising of her kids. But after many years like this, her youngest son doesn’t require motherly assistance at all times and so she had time to reflect what things have to been given more attention.
At the back of her mind, a voice dictates that being a mother does not actually change the fact that singing was her first and foremost passion. So, she went back to her first love and learned the tactics of songwriting. With many reliable inspirations like her mother, brother, her husband and family, she composed songs that has juices in them, a story that has to be expressed.
Letting her husband listened to her compositions, it was him who devised a plan to work on an album and soon Rachel found herself working with the same composer and arranger, Archimedes Dairocas whom she fondly called Archie. Good for her that her husband and her children understand her temporary departure and give time for herself.
Now, she’s back to her own country, a whole new Rachel with her new album entitled Cool. This 2007-released, 10-track CD is a product of Manna Records, distributed under Sony BMG.
Being a mother and a wife, she is now full of life and there’s a new outlook at things and people around her. Like her mother, she concluded that music indeed is one way of staying young at heart forever.
