My name is Monica Castillo Meares and I am 20 years old. I was born and raised in Philadelphia and currently am attending Holy Family University majoring in BSN Nursing. In high school I participated in many activities such as sports, orchestra (played the cello) and I was also the President of the Filipino Club. When I was 16, I auditioned for American Idol, and standing at 5’ 9” I was a model in designer, Armando Fabia’s first collection in America which premiered in New York. In 2008, I was a state finalist in the National American Miss Pageant taking me all the way to Harrisburg winning trophies and medals for the talent portion. In 2009, I became Miss Maria Clara and Miss Diwa Ng Kalayaan. Recently, I have performed at Santacruzan events, Spirit of Independence Parade/Fesitval and was a guest singer at the Jonathon Badon concert. I thank God everyday for everything I have and pray for continuous blessing upon myself and my family.
